The East Bay Regional Youth Council will be taking on a new responsibility and meaning in the East Bay Regional Coalition. With the active involvement of youth in our local community coalitions, we wanted to take a new approach to how our youth coalition functions on the regional level.

In the past, we had a grant from the Dept. of Health that allowed us to have a tobacco control specific youth council which was made up of 2-3 students from each community focused on a common goal of preventing tobacco product use among their peers. Because we now have strong youth groups within each of our region’s high schools, we would like to have the work of this group be two-fold:

1. Support each other’s group, building upon common goals

2. Support the work of the East Bay Regional Coalition
